PSC golf from The Bunker
Monday, Nov. 1, Bangpra – Stableford
Overcast weather conditions had some of the long term residents commenting that it was a bit too chilly for golf, but most others found the temperature ideal. The course was surprisingly quiet and in good condition, so everything was set for a great day’s golf.
It was something of a surprise at the end of the day, to find that only Dave Ashman and Peter Habgood had taken advantage of the conditions to better their handicap and take first place in the A and B flights respectively.
Back at the Bunker Bar, Geoff Cox was announced as the Golfer of the Month for October, and copious amounts of the amber nectar were consumed as the events of the day were digested.

Wednesday, Nov. 3, Green Valley – Stableford
Playing Green Valley for the second time in a week turned out to be a disappointment since the greens had been sanded over the intervening weekend. Putting was a lottery but as always some were able to cope better than others. Best of all on the day was Paul Edgar who carded an impressive 43 points, closely followed by William Macey, and Tony Robbins who both also produced handicap cutting rounds.
It’s worth mentioning that for the first time ever, the reception requested a copy of the start sheet to prove that we had more than the required 20 players to qualify for the high season discount.

Friday, Nov. 5,Treasure Hill – Stableford
We had taken a 2 month break from playing Treasure Hill because there was so much work being done on the course, and we returned today to find that the work is still very much in progress. Surely the course will be superb when the work is eventually completed, but there seems little prospect of that happening before the New Year.
With several temporary tees and one temporary green the course presented an even tougher test than usual, and only Gerry Cooney was able to rise to the challenge and score better than his handicap.
