NiyomTermsrisuk guaranteed security in the storage of seized narcotics in response to online concerns about possible leaks of illicit drugs that authorities had considerably seized.

The concern could rise because people received numerous news reports on drug suppression but news on the destruction of the drugs was rare, he said.

MrNiyom said that seized narcotics were always checked and verified repeatedly by many officials from different organizations from the process of their seizure to verification by interrogators and technicians, the storage by the Food and Drug Administration and drug incineration.

If there was any inconsistency at any stage through the processes, a suspicious amount of narcotics would be stopped for investigation, he said.

“It is impossible for seized narcotics to be leaked to trafficking,” MrNiyom said.

According to him, on June 26 last year, authorities incinerated 137.4 million speed pills, 3.4 tons of crystal meth, 143 kilograms of heroin, 259 kilogram of opium, 44 kilograms of cocaine and 209 kilograms of other narcotics. On Dec 27, 2019, 10 tons of marijuana were destroyed.
