BANGKOK, 19 July 2013 The city of Pattaya is organizing the Pattaya Grand Sale 2013 with an aim to promote its tourism industry and boost local economy. The organizer expects to see around 1 billion baht in circulation during the 3-month event.
According to the organizer, this is the fifth consecutive year the Pattaya Grand Sale has been held. Entrepreneurs from all areas are taking part in the event, where visitors can find thousand of items on offer at discount prices. The organizer said the fair will help uplift Pattaya’s economy and boost income for the locals as at least 1 billion baht is expected to change hands in the event. The Pattaya Grand Sale 2013 is being from now until the end of September, the slowest period of the year.
The organizer further revealed that Pattaya usually sees her income drop by 30 percent during the low season, with hotel room reservations dropping to only 55 percent of the 50,000 full capacity. To attract more tourists during the period, all hotels and service providers are offering them huge discounts.
In addition, a contest entitled ‘Thailand Spa & Well-being Awards 2013’ will also be held, during which spa service providers will be competing for an award. The contest is aimed at promoting the country’s spa industry to be on par with the international standard.
