Pattaya Sports Club Golf from Billabong

Monday, March 23 Phoenix Gold Stableford

What started out as 5 groups turned into 4 when we got to the Phoenix Gold golf club for our Monday game. This dreadful virus going around the world at the moment is really hurting not only the golf courses here in Pattaya but the caddies are hurting big time also with some of the girls only getting a bag 1 day a week.

The course is in fantastic condition at the moment with no complaints about anything. The weather was perfect for golf also, not too hot and a lovely breeze.

As you can imagine it was a fast round. With nobody else on the course we just flowed along. Our Aussie friends have been summoned back home cutting their holiday 10 days short. Due once again to this virus they have to be back before the lock down and flights get cancelled.

The scoring Monday was very good with a count back between Marie Peytel and Andrew Woodall, both scoring 36 points with Marie taking 4th place and Andrew 3rd. Second place went to Caroline Blum with 37 points, and she promptly bought everyone a drink.

The top spot was taken by Barry Lewis who at one stage was going to give the game away, he was playing that badly. But a combination of playing from the silvers and a bit of building the muscles up he is now playing some good golf. Great to see mate. He won Monday with 40 Stableford points and rang the bell in celebration. A big thanks from everyone.

There were two 2s coming from Barry Lewis and Caroline Blum.

A sad piece of news, the Haven Consultants trophy both Annual and this month one are being postponed due to the restrictions on the gatherings of large groups.
