Banglamung District Chief Amnart Charoensri announced today (April 1) that Banglamung Public Health Department this morning revealed the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infected cases in Banglamung district has climbed to 20. Twelve are foreigners and 8 are Thai, (10 males, 10 female). 16 live in Pattaya City, 2 in Nongprue sub-district, 1 in Takiantia sub-district, and 1 in Huay Yai sub-district. He said all tested positive are now being treated in hospital. No information was given on the severity of their condition.
The district chief also stressed that for those who were in contact or close to the infected must quarantine themselves for 14 days and report their daily health situation via telephone to the officials at the Banglamung and Pattaya Citypublic health offices.
He said up until now there are no reports of any Thai people who were in close contact with the new patients. Banglamung District Chief also emphasized that those who travel into the district area must strictly follow rules issued by the Governor and Interior Ministry in order to control the virus spread. People traveling in and out by all transport means, public or private, must be monitored for health and must obey issued regulations such as social distancing and face-masks wearing, both at the depots and in their vehicles.
Local headmen, Kamnan, administration officials, public health officials, and Banglamung permanent-secretary officialsmust perform their duties cautiously. Those who fail to comply with the laws issued since the emergency decree announcement on March 26 can be charged up to 100,000 baht or faced with up to one-year imprisonment.
Banglamung District Chief, Amnart Charoensri added that everyone must be responsible for themselves and the community, stop physical socializing, quarantine themselves at home is best, avoid going into crowded spots when you have to go out, use only your own food utensils, and try by all possible ways to help our city fight against the virus.
