The Zoological Park Organization (ZPO) offers live streams of exhibit animals on its Facebook, so viewers can now watch the animals online during zoo closures due to the coronavirus outbreak.

People can enjoy virtual tours and live streams, featuring various animals of each zoo at home.

For example, Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi will be live streaming the animals like Malayan tapirs, tigers, and giraffes while educating viewers about the animal life, behavior and eating habit.

Acting director of ZPO, Suriya Saengpong said that the ZPO has strict measures to take care of the animals’ well-being during the zoo closure in line with the international standard.

Temporary closure has no impact on the animals and some animals are released from exhibit zones for exercise, he said.

Moreover, officials use this opportunity to beautify landscapes of the zoos to keep them clean and ready for reopening. (TNA)
