Thailand and Indonesia kicked off a month of joint naval exercises aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two countries and mutually improving military tactical skills.
Rear Adm. Somchai Na Bangchang, commander of the Royal Thai Navy’s Frigate 1 Division, dispatched the HTMS Sukhothai and HTMS Sirirath to Indonesian waters Sept. 3 for the Aug. 26-Sept. 30 Sea Garuda.
281 Thai sailors line up in front of the HTMS Sukhothai whilst preparing to sail to Indonesian waters for this year’s Sea Garuda joint military exercises.
Run for the 17th time, the war games will see 281 Thai sailors join exercises that aim to help Thailand and Indonesia’s armed forces cooperate for the benefit of both countries’ population, Somchai said.
