More than 20 students and residents of two Pattaya neighborhoods learned basic first aid and life support at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya’s “iRescue” seminar.
Jirawut Amnuaychaisiri, president of the Prasani Community, and Bunthum Potsuwan of the Hua-thung Community joined students from Pattaya School No. 3 for the Sept. 6 class at the hospital.
Sarayuth Pongphumma, an expert on emergency resuscitation in the hospital’s Accidents and Emergencies Department led the training on first aid and resuscitation, sharing information on the reasons for cardiac arrest and the initial steps that can be taken to care for victims. Guests were guided through the CPR processes and trained on basic help that can be provided to victims before ambulances arrive.

“In many countries, first aid is taught to students, bringing marvelous results since it has decreased the loss of life. Therefore, BHP realizes the importance of organizing the “iRescue” project for Pattaya School No. 3 students and citizens from the two communities to increase the number of personnel with knowledge on first aid that can be passed on to communities or families,” said BHP Vice-President for Social Activities Dr. Piyaporn Tipyarat.
The workshop was the hospital’s third on life support techniques. Previous seminars offered training to police, government employees and business leaders.
