She said she’s making about 300-500 baht, which is not a lot, but it was more than she had while the shop was closed.

Arkhom Praditsuwan, deputy director-general of the Health Service Support Department, said Thailand has about 10,500 registered massage parlors, spas and beauty clinics. More than 100,000 people were out of work during the country’s coronavirus lockdown.

To reopen, he said, businesses must register with the department and first be inspected and certified that they are following all disease-prevention rules.
