Dept of Land Transport signs agreement for stricter road law enforcement

BANGKOK, 27th September 2013 The Department of Land Transport has signed an agreement with the Royal Thai Police, The Transport Co.,Ltd, and the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) on integrated cooperation on raising stricter measures against traffic violators in order to increase road safety. 

According to Land Transport Department Director-General Mr.Somchai Siriwatanachoke, the four agencies will work hand-in-hand, strictly enforcing traffic rules and regulations. Penalty for traffic violations will be harsher to coerce drivers in to driving carefully and abiding by the law.

The Department of Land Transport will be in charge of overseeing provincial Land Transport Offices in order for them to smoothly work with highway and traffic police.
