BANGKOK, 28 September 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra welcomed the national female volleyball team at a reception at Government House to congratulate them for the successful defense of their Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship title.
Ms. Yingluck presented the team members with 1 million baht from the Government Lottery Office, and another 1 million baht from petrol conglomerate PTT Plc, to boost the spirit of the volleyball players who led the Thai team to its 2nd successive title at the event. She congratulated the players for bringing fame and pride to the country, and commended them for their hard work and dedication. She also asked them to keep up the good work.
The Thai team defeated Japan in 3 straight sets on September 21 in Nakhon Ratchasima to claim the championship.
