Celebrations on Supreme Patriarch’s 100th birthday extended by one more week

BANGKOK, 8 October 2013 – The celebrations on the centenary of the Supreme Patriarch’s birthday at Bovoranives Monastery which was earlier scheduled to end on October 7, have been extended to October 14, 2013. 

Among the activities held in honor of His Holiness Somdej Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch at the monastery are an exhibition on major historical events during the past 100 years, a 4-dimension exhibition on the Supreme Patriarch’s life, an exhibition entitled “100 pictures 100 years of the Supreme Patriarch” , and chanting of religious prayers. The Supreme Patriarch, 19th of the Rattanakosin Era, turns 100 years old on October 3. His Holiness is considered the longest living Supreme Patriarch in the Thai history.

The monastery has also arranged books for well wishers to sign their wishes for His Holiness. The activities are open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October 14.
