BANGKOK, 15 Oct 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has unveiled her new policy on promoting electronics industry, in her bid to adjust the nation’s investment strategy to the ever changing world.

The resolution came after the Prime Minister’s meeting with producers of electronics appliances and air conditioners in order to listen to their problems and suggestions.

The Premier has assigned the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to look into a possibility for the government sector to buy office equipment from domestic producers.

Miss Yingluck stressed the Government would restructure its investment promotion strategies to suit the global trend. She also designated the Commerce Ministry to find measures to assist SME businesses, particularly those in downstream industries which are still facing redundant tax collection and prolonged tax return.
