BANGKOK, 19 Nov 2013, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Police General Worapong Chiwprecha, has recently visited police stationed at the Makkawan intersection, one of the demonstration sites, to bolster personnel’s morale. During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner-General stressed that patience is the key to keeping the peace.

Meanwhile, Krisana Hair Designs School has been providing free hair cut services for the cops at the sites. The Royal Thai Police Office has also installed 30 washing machines around the venues, in order to further facilitate the forces during the duration of the Internal Security Act implementation. According to Police General Worapong, morale boosting is essential for the forces dealing with high stress tasks such as maintaining peace at demonstration sites; adding that patience is among the things preventing a gathering to escalate into a violent clash.
