Green Pattaya teamed up with Mahidol University to help clean up the Island of Koh Sak next to Koh Larn. The island has two main beaches but only one is used for tourism and that one is a pristine golden beach. On board the boat that left Bali Hai pier at 10 a.m. were the Green Pattaya volunteer students from Mahidol University, faculty members, a few members of Rotary and the Pattaya Thai press core.
A lovely of couple of hours went quickly in the sun, with the group snorkeling after garbage, and picking up rubbish from the rocks and beaches with the help from surprised Chinese tourists.

A delicious Thai lunch cooked by the skipper onboard filled everybody’s stomachs. The rest of the day was spent on the boat diving, snorkeling and conversing.

At sunset the boat headed back to Pattaya with a load of 30 plastic bags of rubbish. Green Pattaya and the Mahidol University will make this cleaning trip a few more times, and invite people to come and join them next time. The plan is to create an example island for the rest of the islands in the Pattaya area.
