CHIANG MAI, 8 December 2013 Chaing Mai has opened the new living museum, showcasing the Lanna way of life to the students and the general public.
The Lanna Living Museum is located in the Lanna Traditional House Museum, Chiang Mai University. It was opened to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the university. The new living museum exhibits the Lanna way of life, housing equipment, clothes, arts and the traditional wisdom.
Many tribes such as Hmong, Yao, Leesaw, Akha, Tai Leu, Tai Kean, and Tai Yai were considered Lanna people.
The Lanna Living Museum also has a handicrafts demonstration, toys from four regions, health area by the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, music and traditional Thai dance, as well as seminars and talks on art and culture. The museum is open until Monday between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.
