BANGKOK, 17 Dec 2013, Auction dates of digital TV have been set for December 26th – 27th.
Colonel Natee Sukonlarat Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) on Monday made the announcement, saying that the auctions would take place in the CAT Tower in Bank Rak District in Bangkok.
Seven High Definition (HD) channels will be first auctioned off in two rounds. The first round will be held on Thursday December 26th from 8 am to 2 pm, and the second round from 2 pm to 8 pm.
The first round of auctions of 7 Standard Definition (SD) variety channels has been set for Friday December 27th from 8 am to 2 pm. Another 7 news channels and 3 youth & family channels will be auctioned off on the same day, from 2 pm to 8 pm.
According to Col. Natee, a total of 24 channels will be auctioned, adding that bidders must register their representatives to the regulators at least 5 days before the auction dates.
