Labor Ministry invites Thai workers in foreign countries to vote

BANGKOK, 19 Dec 2013 Permanent Secretary for Labor Jirasuk Sugandhajati has instructed labor attaches in various countries to urge Thai workers to vote in the February 2 general elections. 

Mr. Jirasuk said his ministry will do its best to support the government’s most important policy which, at the moment, is to conduct the general election. He said labor attaches stationed in various countries have been instructed to cooperate with the Election Commission in informing Thai workers of the current political situation and to urge them to exercise their rights by voting.

The labor attaches are also tasked with educating Thai workers on how to register for advance voting as well as seeking permissions from employers.

According the Labor Ministry, currently, there are 446,130 Thai workers abroad.
