BANGKOK, 20 December 2013 The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) is set to organize the 19th Gift Festival next week, during which products made by vocational students will be put on sale.
According to OVEC, the Gift Festival serves as a marketplace for various types of merchandise produced by students from 421 vocational institutions under the office’s supervision. Besides displaying and selling the products, the event also provides visitors with demonstrations and workshops. The students, therefore, get a chance to apply their classroom knowledge, whether practical or theoretical, to a real-life situation.
The Gift Festival is part of OVEC’s policy to produce quality vocational personnel who are ready to work immediately after graduation. The sale of products is also aimed to financially support the students during their studies.
This year, visitors will be able to find a wide range of products, such as batik fabric, processed agricultural goods, home d?cor, clothing and food. The festival will take place during December 23-26 along the Phadung Krung Kasem Canal next to the Ministry of Education.
