BANGKOK, 19 January 2014  Minister of Transport Chatchart Sitthiphan has instructed the Department of Highways to add 200 more parking spaces near the Lat Krabang airport link station due to increasing airport link passengers during mass rallies in Bangkok.

The Lat Krabang station and nearby roads had around 1,000 parking spaces, said the minister. Since 13 January this year, the parking spaces have been full from 8.30-9.00 AM. More 200 parking spaces are being created by the Highway Department in two weeks to meet higher demand.

The minister suggested commuters to carefully plan their journeys on Monday since many schools would resume then. The areas near such schools were expected to have traffic problems the most, he added.
