U.S. mortar shell found in Plutaluang

Naval ordinance experts were summoned when an American mortar round was discovered behind a Plutaluang home.

Naval Ordnance Department found the 81mm shell about 20 meters outside the home of 60-year-old Thongdee Truangdon Jan. 19. Bomb technicians found the round had already been expended and posed no danger.

Thongdee said he discovered the mortar shell while clearing out weeds in the field behind his house.
