BANGKOK, 29 January 2014 The Community Development Department has kicked off the OTOP City 2013 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, with an aim to boost the economy and promote Thai products.
Permanent Secretary for Interior Wiboon Sanguanpong today presided over the opening ceremony of the OTOP City 2013 with the participation of Mr Kwanchai Wongnitikorn, Director-General of the Community Development Department, and representatives from many other units. The objectives of the fair are to increase market opportunities for OTOP products, promote them to international buyers, raise people’s income and uplift their quality of life, and enhance the national economy.
Within the event, there are more than 2,000 booths displaying items that are products of Thai wisdom from every corner of the country. Many booths have also been set up by various ministries, including the Commerce Ministry which is holding the OTOP Select exhibition and offering visitors business-matching activities. The Ministry of Public Health is also organizing an exhibition on Thai traditional medicine while the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is hosting another on green products.
Shoppers are invited to visit the OTOP City 2013 which is taking place until February 6 from 10 am-9 pm daily at Challenger Halls 1-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
