Ratchaprasong explosion kills 3

BANGKOK, 23 February 2014 – A bomb hit Big C Ratchadamri near Ratchaprasong protest site in Bangkok on Sunday evening. At least 21 people were injured and 3 were killed.

The explosion happened at 5 PM in front of the Big C discount store close to Ratchaprasong intersection where the People’s Democracy Reform Committee has set up a stage. Initial reports from local media stated that the bombing incident wounded 21 and killed 3 civilians, 2 of the deaths were 5-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl.

After the incident, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra posted a message on her Facebook page, condemning such attack. She also ordered responsible agencies to bring the attacker(s) to justice as soon as possible.
