BANGKOK, 7 March 2014  Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is seeking to delay her testimony with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) regarding the rice mortgage program.

PM Yingluck has recently been charged for her negligence in the government’s rice subsidy program that has run out of funds. She is currently scheduled to testify to the NACC on March 14th. The NACC will then decide whether there is a case to pursue.

However, Miss Yingluck will seek to postpone the deadline as she needs more time to gather information and prepare documents related to the charges.

The Premier assigned a lawyer on her behalf to acknowledge the charges with the NACC on February 27th as she was occupied with her duty.
