Pattaya, Chonburi, 10 March, 2014 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is about to stage the Pattaya International Music Festival 2014, along the city’s Beach Road. The event, now in its 13th year, will be showcasing a range of international acts from 21 to 23 March.
Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik, TAT Governor, said, “The festival is now a well-established event that draws music lovers from all over the world. To celebrate its 13th year, TAT has increased marketing and promotions to ensure that everyone, tourists and locals alike know what great bands will be playing. We want to make sure that this is the biggest and best event to date.”
With the justified claim to be the longest-running beach music festival in Asia, the free, three-day concert will feature performances by Thai and international artists at four different stages along the Beach Road of Pattaya. The Main Stage will be located next to Hardrock Café, the Blue Stage at CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, the Green Stage at Central Pattaya Beach and the Reggae Stage at the Walking Street in South Pattaya.

As always, there will be something for everyone with many different genres of music represented, including pop, hip hop, rock and jazz. Over the three days, the first bands will go on stage at around 18:00 hrs. and the music will continue until about midnight.
Among the leading international and local artists coming to perform this year are Thaitanium, Buddha Bless, Lemon Soup Super Baker, Sugar Eyes, Grace Riya, Sweet Green Soup, Ta-Mone and Gold Red.
As well as the concerts themselves, music lovers will be able to enjoy fine dining from some of Pattaya’s leading restaurants who will be helping to cater for the festival. There will also be a range of music-related accessories and souvenirs within the concert venue to buy, which will be great mementoes of this popular event.
Mr. Thawatchai said, “Through this event, we hope to create a more positive image of Pattaya. On top of the great music at the Pattaya International Music Festival 2014, there is also a range of fascinating tourist attractions to enjoy in this beach resort city and in the areas around.”
About the Pattaya International Music Festival
The event was first held as the Pattaya Music Festival in 2002 and was so successful that the TAT decided to collaborate with the local authorities in Pattaya to ensure that the festival would become an annual event.
In the auspicious year of 2006 when the people of Thailand came together to celebrate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 60th Anniversary of Accession to the Throne, the event was made bigger than ever and renamed the Pattaya International Music Festival. That year, thousands of Thai and foreign tourists came to Pattaya to enjoy famous singers from major music labels from Thailand and overseas. It was regarded as one of the biggest musical events in the kingdom’s history.
The year 2006 also marked a turning point in the festival history, as that was the year that it started gathering an international following and attracting the really big name bands. Now, music lovers from around the world look forwards to coming to Pattaya each year to enjoy the range of artists and musical genres.
