PSC golf from The Bunker
Monday, Nov. 8, Khao Kheow – Stableford
A large field headed out to play Khao Kheow, for what for many would be a practice round, ahead of the upcoming John Preddy Memorial tournament to be held there on the 24th November. The course was in good condition and the weather excellent so a great day’s golf was enjoyed by all.
The highlight of the day was Geoff Parker scoring an ‘ace’ on the signature hole (B8 the island green), almost exactly a year to the day since his previous hole in one. This was Geoff’s 3rd hole in one in the last 3 years, but he was heard to say that’s enough now – it’s an expensive pastime!
Back at the Bunker Bar the hole in one fund was emptied to softening the blow of buying drinks for all the competitors – well done Geoff!

2nd JJ Harney (11) 34pts
3rd Tony Berry (11) 33pts

3rd John Hughes (17) 31pts

Wednesday, Nov. 10, Greenwood – Stableford
We picked a busy day for Greenwood with 3 other golf societies ahead of us, and it felt like the high season had arrived early, as we experienced our first 5-hour round for quite some time.
Geoff Parker shares the bell ringing duties with Lily.
It’s not difficult to see why the course is so popular since the green fee is competitive (unlike Phoenix, which we will not be visiting until the green fee returns to a reasonable level) and the course is in excellent condition.
The best performance of the day was from Roy Dayton, making a rare appearance on the podium, after scoring an excellent 39 points. Tony Scambler, playing only his second game since returning to Pattaya, won the A Flight with 37 points after beating Tony Berry on a count-back.

Friday, Nov. 12, The Emerald – Stableford
After sorting out confusion with our booking and negotiating a reduced green fee for the large field of players, we set out for what was to prove an excellent day’s golf.
Some players complained about the greens being bumpy and fluffy, but it didn’t affect Gordon Melia carding a superb 41 points to take the honours. The day was made complete for the Melia family with Marion taking third place in the B Flight and after the customary beers at the Bunker, the happy couple headed off to find a restaurant with an adequate supply of champagne.
Nile Sheehan won the B Flight with 37 points despite scoring blanks on the last 2 holes – or was it handicap management?
