The second John Deardon sponsored JTB Charity Classic golf tournament was played on Thursday, March 6th at Green Valley Golf Club. The format was a four-man Texas scramble and the numbers were up from last year’s 52 players to 80 players this year as the contest seems to be growing from strength to strength.
The course was in fine condition and everyone had a great day. John is especially thankful to the Sugar Shack and Donavan’s golf society for switching their golf days to this day and providing so many players. This year’s winners were the Golf Club’s regulars John Emerson, Brad Sproxton, Kenny Aiara and Mike Newbert with a very creditable net score of 59.9.

After auctioning off some excellent golf clubs and a bottle of Cognac donated by Jim Dundon, plus a cash donation of 12,600 Baht by Roger Bishop, the total raised for the Camillian children was 127,000 Baht. The volunteers from the center and John thanked everyone who took part to make the competition a great success.
