Pracha, SBPAC assessing unrest in southern Thailand

SBPAC, 14 March 2014  Today (14 Mar) at Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre building 3, Deputy Prime Ministers Mr. Pracha Promnog and Mr. Phongthep Thepkanjana together attended the the 1st southern border provinces development strategy meeting for 2014, along with Mr. Tawee Sodsong, the secretary-general of SBPAC and related organizations. 

Mr. Pracha revealed the meeting was to consider the southern border provinces development strategy (2013-2014) for SBPAC, in order to decide the budget for emergency events: to attend to the wounded and dissuade militants from clashing. SBPAC would summarize the current situation, the obstacles to problem resolving, and suggestions for modifications.

To this end, the meeting focused on negotiations with the BRN group: the current state of talks and further initiatives.
