A summer storm has ravaged parts of Thailand’s northeastern region, where one person was reportedly killed.
Buriram Province was struck by a destructive summer storm that brought down a tree more than a hundred years old. The tree collapsed onto a house and killed a 38-year-old man, who is the owner of the house. However, his wife and daughter were safe.
The storm also caused heavy damage to a motor show exhibition held at the parking lot of a Big C supermarket in Buriram’s Muang District. Tents, banners, and other equipment were blown away by the strong winds, forcing the organizer to call off the event.
Meanwhile, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, gusty winds brought down a tree that fell onto an overhead power line. In addition, a 10-meter-long awning of a shop and a secondary covering attached to the exterior wall of a building were completely destroyed by the storm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in these cases.
