Bangkok Airways President Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth (centre) presided over the launch of the inaugural flight from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) International Airport to Chiang Rai recently. He said, “We see Chiang Rai as another potential destination to enhance tourism and commerce within the region. The city is also a strategic gateway to neighboring countries such as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic which is a pathway for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community as well as most southern parts of China.”
