Forest encroacher charged with possession of Siamese Rosewood in Surin

SURIN, 20 April 2014 — A forest encroacher has been arrested with possession of Siamese Rosewood and tree cutting tools, according to the director of Surin Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Huay Tabtan-Huay Samran Wildlife Sanctuary joined hands with Forest Prevention and Reservation Unit, police officers, military officers, and government officials to arrest Lui Ngam-Chalard, 46, a villager of Bua-Ched district, together with 24 Siamese Rosewood logs, three red wood logs, guns, saws, axes, and a knife.

The encroacher is being further investigated under laws by the inquiry officers of Bua-Ched police office.
