The Tiffany Show celebrated its 40th anniversary by crowning its 17th winner in the recently held Miss Tiffany Universe transgender beauty contest.
Nissa Katerahong bested 29 other transvestites to take the crown in the May 1 finals at the Pattaya cabaret theatre. Nissa takes home 2 million baht in prizes, including a new car and 120,000 baht in cash, and will represent Thailand at Tiffany’s Miss International Queen pageant later this year.
Nissa also won the Miss Sexy Star award and 15,000 baht.
The road to the crown began over a month ago with the opening press conference and then progressed to the qualifying round and the April 29 semifinals to choose the final 30 from the starting field of 100 contestants from across the kingdom.

The judging panel included Srikhumrung Yukol, Sombat Tirasaroj, managing director of True Co.; Marut Sarowart, Yutthana Lorpunpaiboon, stage director; actress Bai Ling; Somsak Chalachol, president of Chalachol Co.; actress Ornnapa Kritsadee, Kamol Chatsaen, makeup artist; Kittinan Thammatat, chairman of Thai Rainbow Club; Tanyaret Engtrakul and Piyarat Kaljaruek.
Jidapa Noikwan (left) was adjudged to be wearing the most stylish cocktail dress.
The rest of the prize package was sponsored by Pratunam Poly Clinic, Siam@Siam Pattaya Hotel, Perfect Slim, BB Clinic&Beauty Center, and the Woodlands Hotel and Resort, which provides an apartment for a year to the winner.
Finishing second in this year’s contest was Rachaya Noppakaroon while Trithipnipa Thippaphada placed third.
The best costume award went to Minlananin Santap. Trithipnipa Thippaphada was voted Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality was Nattarika Roongroth. The prize for the most-stylish cocktail dress went to Jidapa Noikwan while Miss Ripley’s Popular Vote was won by Thasanan Kanghae.
Overall third and winner of the Miss Photogenic award was Trithipnipa Thippaphada.
The best costume award went to Minlananin Santap.
