Mr. Sugree said, “Different regions of Thailand can offer a variety of destinations, from north to south and west to east with their different characteristics waiting to be developed by investors to capture tourists’ preferences; for example, the North comprises its potential of uniqueness in culture while the Northeast emerges as a connecting destination to ASEAN countries.”
He added, “TAT has planned to do more marketing to prop up the outstanding point of each destination and the highlighted linking of those destinations. Moreover, we continue to create more interesting campaigns to attract tourists; for instance, the beautiful western coastline of Thailand is eyed as new potential destinations.”
Hence, extensive hotel investment is being made in properties outside Bangkok, especially in boutique hotels. The single-market economic changes and travel facilitation that will be ushered in by the ASEAN Economic Community will also be a major plus point in the future.
