PDRC leader Suthep reports to the Office of the Attorney General

BANGKOK, 26 May 2014 – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has ordered the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thaugsuban, along with four other PDRC leaders to be released from military custody today. 

The four now released, are Mr. Sathit Wongnongtoey, Mr. Ekanat Prompan, Mr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, and Mr. Somsak Kosaisuk.

All five of them were to report to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to hear charges of insurrection against them..

Meanwhile, Mr. Thawon Senniem, another PDRC core leader, revealed that all five are awaiting a trial to take place. However, it is ultimately up to the OAG’s deliberations if the five are to be indicted.
