Six regional dance teams head to Tesco-Lotus aerobics dance finals

Six regional dance teams will compete for 1.7 million baht in prizes after winning their way through the qualifying rounds of the Tesco Lotus Aerobic Dance for Health competition in Pattaya.

Seksan Nakwong, deputy permanent secretary for the Tourism and Sports Ministry, presided over the close of the May 18 event at the retailer’s South Pattaya location.

In its eighth year, the competition saw 49 teams from the eastern and central regions vie for the top-two slots in three categories.  The finalists will go on to the national finals to be held June 29 at Thammasart University’s Rangsit campus.

The under-15 age category was won by the Buraphaphat team from Khaocha-ang Khromklong School in Rayong and the “It’s My Mind” team from Ratchaburi.

In the above-35 age bracket, the winning teams were Srai Khao Soi Dao from Chanthaburi and Nongphangphuay Heha 35+ from Chonburi.

The public category was won by the All-Star team from Ratchaburi and the Soidai Fin Fin team from Chanthaburi.

Two other teams won special awards.  The Favorite Supporters Tesco-Lotus prize was won by the Boat Studio and the Pattaya Favorite Team prize by the Small Young Guns.
