Phoenix Gold on Monday with six teams of four playing in perfect weather on a great course in fantastic condition. The greens were lightning fast, ensuring a lot of three and sometimes four putts.
We had a few visitors from Captain Cripple’s former club, Headland Golf Club in Buderim, Queensland. The Captain has been friends with these golfers for something like 40 years, so it was great to catch up, and hopefully we will see you for a few more games whilst you’re here.
The scoring was not bad, with John Seton (the robot) taking 4th place with 36 points. It took a three-way countback to settle the rest of the prizes, with all three scoring 37 points. Brian Jacks took 3rd place, Paul Blackshaw finished second, and Josie Ryan, my good friend from Headland, took the top spot.
The little French General Gerard Lambert accomplished the only two for the day.
