Curfew lifted in 20 provinces

BANGKOK, 11 June 2014 – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on Tuesday announced the lifting of the curfew in 20 more provinces, as it deemed there was no tendency for violent situations in the respective provinces. 

The NCPO, via its announcement no. 60, declared the lifting of the late night curfew in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Phetchaburi, Trat, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Roi Et, Loei, Surin, Tak, Sukhothai, Mae Hong Son, Uttaradit, Phrae, Nan, Trang and Satun. In Songkhla, the curfew was being lifted in Mueang and Sadao districts, following the earlier revocation of the curfew in Hat Yai district.

In its announcement no. 60, the NCPO explained that due to improved outlook for the security situation in the aforementioned areas, it had decided to cancel the curfew to soften impact on people’s daily lives.
