While the National Center for Peace and Order has ended the night-time curfew in Pattaya, Royal Thai Navy personnel are still standing guard at checkpoints throughout the east.
In Pattaya, sailors were working a checkpoint on Sukhumvit Road in front of the Boonthavorn do-it-yourself store.
People brought food and drinks to give the officers as support and to say thanks.
Lt. J.G. Chamnan Litsomjit said several people have supported the military presence, offering sailors food and drinks.
Another checkpoint is operating in Sriracha.
