PANG-NGA, 23 June 2014, – A storm has hit Pang-Nga Province in the southern region of Thailand, damaging a local governmental building.
The storm, formed after series of extreme changes of weather patterns, has touched down in the area of Takua Pa District Municipality, leaving trails of destruction along its path.
Shortly after the storm hit, local administration and disaster prevention and mitigation officials were deployed to provide assistance to the affected residents. They immediately removed trees blocking the road, while assessing damage on the buildings in the area.
The office of the local prosecutor has been severely damaged by the storm, which blew off the office rooftop, leaving its interior exposed to the rain.
The damaged rooftop allowed rainwater to collect in the inner structure, causing parts of the ceilings to collapse. Authorities have to proceed with extreme caution, as the entire top portion of the building could collapse.
