PSC golf from Siam Country Resort
Tuesday, June 24, Eastern Star – Stableford
Eastern Star was our venue for Tuesday, playing from the white tees at a little over 6,500 yards, under clear skies with a light breeze. It was pretty much perfect conditions for golf, with the course maintaining a good level of maintenance currently, fairways running out and greens rolling true.
Jeff Wylie (H/cap 6) was the clear leader with 38 points, while the battle for the minor places was torrid, being settled on a 5-way count back. Yes, 5 players, all with 30 points, and it was Paddy Devereux (21) getting the nod with a mammoth 21 points on the back 9. He was followed by Yves (33) with 18, Jonathan (10) 17, Martin (15) 16 and Neil (19) with 15.

Neil and Yves had to be content with joining Jeff in picking up a near pin each.
Thursday, June 26, Rayong C.C. – Stableford
Thursday saw us travel to Rayong Country Club, under threatening skies which eventually opened up with some rain, but not enough to deter our hearty bunch.
We played from the whites at just under 6,400 yards, although it did seem to play longer, or maybe it is just me getting older. The course was in reasonable condition, for the price, and although it may not fit the bill of some, it provides a good test with at least 2 holes being amongst the most testing of any in the area.
Jonathan Pratt (10) played some good golf but a lost ball on the last and let Jeff Wylie (6), who equalled his score of 33 points, squeak past him for 1st on count back 17/14.
Near pins went to Martin, Jonathan & Jeff.
A good contingent of SCR golfers went to Pattana on Wednesday with the PAGS tournament, which was dogged by some heavy rain at times. Not our best day, result wise, but we still had some fun and everybody that attended the presentation went home with at least a lucky draw.
Note: Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200 metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days. Call 0890941841 for scheduling or enquiries.
