Sand said she was not concerned about the charge; she denied it and placed an asset worth 200,000 baht as bail and said she would defend herself in line with the justice system and would follow conditions for her temporary release.

Wisapat ‘Sand’ Manomairat denied police’s charge of fatal recklessness related to the death of actress Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong and was released on bail right away.

Sand was informed of the charge and questioned for about three hours. Afterward Sand told reporters without a sign of tension that Tangmo had relieved herself at the stern of their speedboat before falling overboard in the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi province on the night of Feb 24.

Sand said she was not concerned about the charge. She denied it and placed an asset worth 200,000 baht as bail. She said she would defend herself in line with the justice system and would follow conditions for her temporary release.

Her lawyer Pornsak Wipas-apanon said police laid only one charge, recklessness causing death, and he had no idea if police would later come up with another charge.

Sand was prohibited from leaving the country and ordered to report to police every week, the lawyer said. His client asked police to let her report to police every 12 days. (TNA)
