Thung Song Police and Namtok Yong National Park restore forest in Thung Song

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 18 April 2014 – Police officers from Thung Song Provincial Police Station and staff from Namtok Yong National Park recently led volunteer police and over 50 students to the water saving forest in Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, in a reforestation project. The distance up the hill is about three kilometers. About 500 trees including Pterocarpus macrocarpus, Hopea odorata and Parkia timoriana will replace trees that were illegally cut down. Namtok Yong National Park will in future provide patrol officers to prevent illegal deforestation and to care for the trees that were planted this year
