About 70 Chonburi students helped create homes for fish using artificial grass in a project organized by the YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya Center.
The students from Banthung Kha School used synthetic grass made from ropes to create seabeds that will be deposited in the sea to return balance to the local marine environment.
YWCA Chairwoman Praichit Jetpai and Pattaya mayoral advisor Kritsana Jiramongkol hosted the July 25 event at Naklua’s Lan Po Park. The activity was aided by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Center 1, local fishermen’s groups and the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.

The purpose of the project was to return balance to the aquatic environment by planting synthetic grass in the sea and create awareness amongst youths as to the importance of the environment.
