Government promotes S-Curve industries, approving 309 projects in the first half of the year, with a total value of 131,580 million baht
According to the Thai government, in the first half of this year (January-June 2022), 309 projects under 12 targeted S-Curve industries have been approved for support by the Government with a total value of 131,580 million baht. Most of them are agricultural and food processing industries, as well as digital industries, while the automobile and parts industry makes up the highest amount of the investment fund, worth THB 40,260 million.
The 12 targeted S-Curve industries are automotive; smart electronics; affluent, medical, and wellness tourism; agriculture and biotechnology; food; robotics for industry; logistics and aviation; biofuels and bio-chemicals; digital; medical services; defense; and education and human resource development.
With the approved projects, it is expected that Thailand’s export income would increase by approximately THB 384,430 million this year, helping strengthen the Thai economy. (PRD)
