Residents of Koh Larn Tropical Island confronted Pattaya City councilors Jirawat Plukjai, Banjong Banthoonprayuk, Wisai Petchtrakul and Dilok Thongnak who had crossed over from the mainland on Sept. 4, to attend the cremation of Khun Mae Taengon Suetrong, a respected elder resident of the island, to voice their complaints that the streets have been in darkness for too long and that it was about time the city fathers fixed the lights.
They said that the lights on the street leading to the pier were too dim or not working at all which posed a security and safety risk for residents and tourists alike.
The councilors accepted the complaint and promised to inform the island branch of the engineering department to install brighter lights along the road expeditiously.
The island authorities got to work immediately and within a day there were bright lights on the streets of Koh Larn again.
On their return to the mainland, city councilor Banchong spotted what looked like a gold bracelet on the pier. He picked it up and gave it to the security guard to keep it in the lost and found department until the rightful owner comes to claim it back.
