Pattaya City councilors met on Sept. 11, to discuss the delayed construction of one of Pattaya’s most significant business thoroughfares. At the meeting, Banlue Kullavanijaya, Chairman of the Pattaya City council and Councilor Pasakorn Yusomboon questioned the delay of construction work on Thepprasit Road and the surrounding areas. They pointed out that the work has been going on for quite some time with no end in sight.
Pasakorn said that the construction and now the delay have frustrated and angered business owners and residents of one of the most important commercial thoroughfares in Pattaya. Not only were the businesses hit hard during the pandemic, but now they have to endure the irresponsibility of the city engaged constructors obstructing their livelihood.
The construction work includes laying drainage pipes on both sides of the road and building a traffic island running the length of the thoroughfare. The drainage manholes on the road have been raised 7cms in preparation for laying asphalt on the road surface.
The councilors pointed out that the full contract expires in March 2023 and all work must be completed within that deadline.
