Three Laotian laborers died when their van driver fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed in Rayong.
There were 14 Laotians packed into the passenger van bound for a Bangkok immigration office so the laborers could renew their visas Sept. 26.
But the van crashed into the back of a 10-wheeled truck at the Krasaebon intersection on Highway 344 in Klang District.
The Thai driver and many of the Laotians were trapped in the van. Three women died before they could be extracted.
