About 2,500 people laced up for the Loma Run on the Beach for Charity in Pattaya.
Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat and Banglamung Deputy District Chief Puttisit Chotisiriwarothai joined Human Help Network Foundation Thailand Director Radchada Chomjinda Sept. 25 in starting the runners as early as 5 a.m.
Proceeds from the race go to the charity to assist children and poor people and to help purchase medical equipment for Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Center in Sattahip.
A 21-kilometer half-marathon, the Loma Run stretched from the Dongtan Beach police box to Jomtien Second Road and passed the Pattaya Tiger Park, Matchanu intersection, Jomtien Beach Road and Summer House Pattaya. Five and 10-kilometer runs also were held.
Each race awarded prizes for men and women separately. The fun run winners were Kittinan Ayuyuen and Jirawan Pattamatin. The 10-kilometer winners were Vladislav Demianov and Ratchaneewan Traikisayakun. The winners of the main race were Thanakorn Ketprayoon and Ratchaya Khotkan.
