The Ministry of Commerce is now encouraging local businesses to market their products on TikTok, capitalizing on the video-sharing platform’s popularity.

The Department of Business Development (DBD) has joined hands with the social media platform TikTok to launch a workshop for small businesses and community enterprises. The workshop offers businesses the knowledge, technique, and practical information on how to register and sell items on TikTok.

DBD Director General Thosapone Dansuputra said this platform allows businesses to reach a wider consumer base and more sales.
Participants in this workshop, including 150 community retailers, will receive a registration fee waiver, free commission, free logistics costs, shop support, sales promotion tools, and discount coupons.

The participants are also eligible to compete in the TikTok Shop contest happening from 15 October to 5 November. There will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards and a chance to be named TikTok idols.

The video-sharing platform TikTok launched its TikTok Shop in Thailand approximately 6 months ago. This e-commerce service is considered one with the potential to reach a large customer base of some 1 billion users globally. The app has provided a channel for users and influencers to share their content, sell, or promote their products through short videos and live streaming. (NNT)
