Flood in Fang District of Chiang Mai subsides

CHIANGMAI, 30 September 2014 Following a flash flood in Chiang Mai the situation has returned to normal. However, authorities had to rescue victims of the wide spread deluge in Hunkha District, Chai Nat Province and evaluate the damage that resulted from the storm.

Due to the continuous heavy rain in Chiang Mai during 28th and 29th September, Fang District was affected from flash floods that covered two sub-districts and damaged fifty houses. Tragically three people drowned in the torrent but the flood situation is now reported to have improved late in the day.

Meanwhile, the storm that struck Chai Nat Province affected 94 houses and 1 temple. The authorities have provided help for the victims and are evaluating the damage.
